I keep forgetting to say this but Regnault is giving Silco from Arcane (the section of the book has nothing to do with him, I just remembered the thought)

This book makes me sad for Carrie, I had forgotten how bad it really is for her. It’s surprising how well King writes the women of this book, considering his other female characters from this time period are somewhat lacking. I’m enjoying the build up, and it’s unique among his styles.

this is my first time reading Carrie, and I was not disappointed. this book stands up to time. for a book written in the 70's it captures the essences of coming of age, the horrors of womanhood, and the distain thrust upon people in the lower classes. they hated Carrie just for existing and being poor. that's it, that's all. years of torment until she snapped and destroyed the entire city.
I'm reading king this year because of welcome to derry and also stranger things and all the parallels. there were parks that are indicative of it's time, verbiage that wouldn't stand today. that is my only sort of ick. but also it's another thing that could be studied in a critical English class.
