Idk guys...still processing. A lot of the writing was skilfully done but this author either got a thesaurus for Christmas or needs to get a thesaurus for Christmas.

I have never, to my knowledge, read a book that used the word fecund/fecundity more than one time. Tumescent, yeasty, palsied, unctuous, insouciant, ersatz, aplomb...I love the English language, but there has to be a budget for expensive words, food writer or not. I guess I was expecting more payoff at the end.

Anyway, it was still fun and I was sometimes like "yes mama, eat his butt cheeks for dinner!" And then at other times like "ok, that'll do, pig."

Would I recommend it? Yes. Would I also recommend a companion dictionary? Yes.

And the forum covered this pretty well but the biggest hate crime of this whole book was the tofu slander.
