I finally got around to reading this book four years later. I had such high expectations, especially because I absolutely loved the first two books. I was also excited since the series is finally complete now. Unfortunately, this third book just didn't pull me in the way I thought it would.

I also have to admit I was hoping Scarlett would show a bit more growth. (Although maybe I only feel that way because it's been so long since I read the first two books, and I've gotten older. Some of the themes just don't appeal to me the way they used to.)

I'm not sure if my reading tastes have changed or if I just wasn't in the right mood for this book, but the pacing felt slow and honestly almost every character got on my nerves at some point.

Even though I didn't enjoy this one as much, I still think the overall plot is great, and I really love C.M's writing. The whole Nightmare aspect was definitely one of my favourite parts.

I still plan on reading the next books, just not right away.

Even though I enjoyed this final book, I felt like it didn’t pull me in as much as the first two. It’s still a very addictive read, but some characters didn’t end up where I expected. Overall though it’s a really solid series!
