Initially I had a hard-time reading, likely due to the lack of introductory world-building and the purple purple prose. Stick with it, at around 34% it starts to read like poetry, sentences and idioms appear on pages that will delight you, and the plot enthralls you deeper still. For the last 40 minutes of reading I dreaded its end, but it was near-perfect.
