Research done with ISFDB, folklore and mythology included I am currently building this list based off of the debut by year list, which only includes authors who've published six entries... I think this limitation is arbitrary, but I currently lack the means to really dig into the weeds with them... please forgive me :bow:

C.B. Dignam - technically, no one knows if they were a man/woman/1900-gender, but I think that ambiguity would've rendered them for inclusion here ... if there had been any books of theirs listed on goodreads

I think Ephron is a much better movie writer than novel writer. I'll probably check out this one's movie-adaption soon but at the moment I'm left feeling very ehh. I liked the conversational cadence of the novel quite a bit.
Very much disliked the racism and homophobia in it, the forward mentioned it being ahead of its time ... but it felt quite dated in many respects
