Romantasy is my go to but I dabble in romance and thrillers too. Can't resist a baddie FMC and a shadow daddy. Looking to make bookish friends! 🐉

Wow. As someone who LOVES horror movies, especially found footage horror movies, i never thought a book told through the lens of a FF horror movie would work...but it does! This was so fun and had me truly hooked from the beginning. The premise is simple, 5 reality TV ghost hunters are on their last hoorah to end their first season of their show Fade to Black. In their final episodes, they visit a house known as Foundation House which has legend of human experimentation and haunting. But what unfolds is truly the stuff of nightmares. I cared so much about each of them and even their stupid "we have to go back", after being insanely haunted by the spirits, moments, I still cared for them. This was both heartbreaking and terrifying. At one point while reading my smoke alarms went off at 3 am and I thought my house was haunted LOL. This was truly an immersive experience where you feel like you're in the show with them. Craig DiLouie, you may have just become an autobuy author for me sir.

If youre into spooky, ghost stories, that feel like watching Ghost Adventures, or like the movie Grave Encounters (which is one of my favorite FF horror movies EVER), then pick this up asap! Tons of fun and terrifying. Absolutely loved it!

I enjoyed this one WAAAAAAY more than the first. Juniper is exactly my kind of FMC the perfect amount of badass while still having so much depth to her character. Her story was genuinely heartbreaking, and seeing her live in survival mode 24/7 was exhausting in the best way because she had every reason to be that guarded.

Her growth was hands down my favorite part of this book. And although Zane made me cringe a little at first, he grew on me SO much. I thought I loved Leon, but wow… Zane might officially take the cake for me 🤭 The way he loved every part of Juniper even the messy, traumatized, fearful parts and helped her realize she never had to apologize for what she’s been through??? Yeah. That got me.
