This was so charming!

Firstly, readers should know going into this that the story doesn't unfold in a traditional way. Instead, it's told through a series of slice-of-life vignettes that are mostly left to the reader's interpretation. Each scene captures adorable, often flirty moments between the two leads that ooze the charm of classic films. There wasn't much clear-cut romance, mostly just conversation and subtle hints, but it still had me smiling and kicking my feet. The art and color work were gorgeous, very reminiscent of vintage ads and fashion illustrations. I especially appreciated how spiffily dressed the two leads were. Will definitely be continuing the series!

Is there anything more satisfying than seeing an arrogant ML so gone for a FL that it humbles him and brings him to his knees? Damien is so unhinged and consumed by his desire to possess the FL that he will lie, cheat, and steal to get even the measliest scrap of love from her. Chloe is my absolute favorite type of FL: stoic but kind, and possesses so much inner strength. The complete opposite of Damien--and honestly, he doesn't deserve her--but seeing how fiercely he loves Chloe you can't help but fall for him too. The artwork was stunning. My only gripes were that the villains were a bit one-dimensional and the ending felt a bit rushed. It was also a bit lacking in the grovel department; I would've loved to see one or two chapters of Damien on his knees begging for forgiveness too.
