Haven't read anything like this before! Incredibly creative—the entire story is told through Slack messages—and a quick read that feels like you're eavesdropping on a ton of different conversations at once. I loved this for its absurdity and its exploration of the Frankensteinian creation of our online, at-work selves.

A strong depiction of unrelenting dread and depression set in pre-pandemic Silicon Valley. Appreciated some unusual aspects of the novel's formatting, including breaking up chapters with asides that gave more backstory to the main character and using some clever imagery. (While important to the overall storyline, I did find the multiple references to the black hole and pomegranates to be excessive in a way that took away their significance.) I'd recommend picking this up at another time if you're not in the best headspace.

A fun, fast read exploring dysfunctional family, complicated sibling relationships, and a complex sense of self. Can't remember the last time I sped through a book like this!
