I don't think it needs to be said but anyways: I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The characters weren't relatable at all. The mom had definitely an unspoken alcohol problem (but maybe that's because of how much they just drank all the time). The plot felt shallow and i think i just kept reading because i kept hoping for it to get better and it unfortunately never did. It had some weird plot twists too, like??? In summary, i felt like the book needed some more work and the characters didn't act their age at all.

i actually don't remember the last time i felt so disconnected to BOTH main characters in a book... i skip over miles' big descriptions of food he's making and couldn't care less for hudson's dramatic rants. and, somehow, i'm still very intrigued for some reason!
