The description of this book is super misleading. It makes it seem like it’s going to be super eerie and have more thriller than it did. This was basically a romance book with a splash of thriller if you’d even call it that. The FMC was also very hard to like. The plot twists saved it from being a two star.

I honestly don’t understand why people are so critical of this book. The parents were a bit insufferable yeah, but I think that’s the point and it wouldn’t make sense if they weren’t.
This is a 4 star for me because it did a great job of creeping me out and making me nervous for the characters, especially considering this is from a child’s POV. It was a little repetitive and slow in some parts, but it had a great mix of story vs scary. I recommend listening to a few hours of audio like I did because it adds to the creepiness!

I wish I would’ve liked this more. The story is good, don’t get me wrong. But this book was veryyy repetitive as if to ingrain something in your head on purpose and then forces you predict everything because of it. There was no shock factor for me unfortunately, but I did like the FMC.

A slower paced cat and mouse with good twists and turns. I predicted Mr. Smiths identity, but this book still gives you enough paranoia to question everything. I did NOT expect that ending though!
