So you have a book you want to read - it's on the shelf of your local library, it's available as an audiobook as well as an e-book, and you see it at your local independent bookshop. What's your thought process in deciding which to go for??!

Went into this blind, and I'm glad I did. Such a pleasant read as it's so beautifully written! Definitely my favourite of Ishiguro's work thus far

This was page after page of all the depressing things that can ever happen, ever. At least A Little Life had beautiful prose, and small moments of hope and joy - this had none.
Found the writing a little too... surface level? All description/retelling of events, whereas I wanted to know what the characters were really feeling, and what they're thinking

I go through periods of life where I barely touch a book, and then there are weeks like this week, where it’s all I want to do and I’m consuming books to live. I was thinking about it today and I just feel so lucky to be able to read in so many different formats. It’s so great to be able to go for a walk or play a cozy game and be absorbing a narrative at the same time, or curl up in the evening with a cup of tea and my kindle or a physical book. Hell, this might be TMI but I’ve even replaced my bathroom doomscrolling with reading. It feels like the more I fall back in love with reading, the more I fall back in love with life again too. Am I alone in this? I hope not. How are others finding ways to fill in reading time?
