I randomly stumbled on this author’s thread and decided to give it a try because I wanted to support a fellow Filipino and reading this has inspired me to write again.
If you want to read a light, romance book set in an island, this is the book for you.
Sophie is a hardworking woman set to open her own cafe in Dalisay. She’s focused and had no plans of entering a relationship, but life surprised her. Archie is a total gentleman and environmentalist. He seemed too good to be true, and it stayed that way all throughout the story. I don’t think there was too big of a conflict between the two so it wasn’t heavy. Narra and Layla are also a fun duo! It’s always so pleasant to read books that portray sisterhood and friendship in a nice light.

I remember watching the Japanese drama based on this book years ago and thinking it was enjoyable but reading it is quite difficult. I’m thinking it might be because of it being translated that it may not be as smooth? Also the way the women are described so far is a little off to me

Perfect February reread. I forgot just how different Lara Jean feels in the books versus the movies!

This is a cute, fun, light read. It has the friends to lovers trope which always tickles me pink! Grayson indeed is a darling and a part of me could definitely relate to Paige. It has a lot of typical moments you would expect from a romcom movie / book, but I think it’s because they’re in high school that it didn’t sell it that much for me.

I am quite an Emily Henry fan so I was excited to read Funny Story. Although it has a lot of the elements that are in her other books, this one doesn’t quite hit the right spot for me. I love that Daphne still finds herself and love after the mess she was in, but a part of me feels like some parts weren’t thoroughly explored.
