It’s been a few days since I finished the book and still find myself thinking about the end of the book and everything it meant… food for thoughts

I am very disappointed because I loved the book and then during the last fifteen pages Joan Didion mentions Israel in a very casual and indulgent way. I did not like that her daughter was in the Beth Israel North Hospital in New York but talking so casually about her husband going to the « Israeli Mission » (I read the French edition so my translation is maybe not the most accurate) and chatting with an Israeli musician, Liz Magnes, about some of her music that makes you picture a nice evening in Jerusalem in a nice luxury hotel was too much for me. I need to research the topic more but what were Joan Didion’s views on the state of Israel ? Has she addressed it head on ? I do wonder
