Spooky Favorites
This is just a list of some of my favorite spooky books I've read lately that I've told/made some of my friends read so I thought I would make a little list here too. Spooky is a loose term.

I am enjoying the much calmer vibe of this compared to the last few books I've been reading. Love a little mystery to chill out while I work. I really like the narrator for this audiobook.

So I was trying to think of like what to actually write for the review, but I guess what I will say is if you are wanting to expand your knowledge about Palestine, and apartheid, genocide, colonialism in general I think this is a really good read. It is a primary source of what has been happening just in our recent lifetimes, with information about was has BEEN happening for DECADES.
I also think its written in a really digestible manner, so like if you aren't into big heavy technical reads like some research paper style stuff, this reads a lot easier than those. It gives you heavy information, and heavy topics, but it is presented in a way that feels genuine, informative, and just I don't know. I'm not a book critic. Free Palestine.

I can’t get over how insufferable these main characters are.

i feel like i've read a lot about Palestine, but i had no idea about "skunk water" and was actually horrified. not only is the skunk water disgusting and inhumane, but it's also kind of psychological torture
like Israel completely controls the Palestinians' water supply to the point that they don't know when they will get fresh water, so naturally when they see a tank installed that has seemingly fresh water they are going to go for it and be completely drenched in rancid water. then add on to that that they can't shower/bathe regularly so they just have to be stuck with the smell to remind them of Israel's control. like actually disgusting and evil

I know this was written in 1898, but if the narrator makes one more remark about 'the inferior sex' or 'how to make the highest tribute to a man' i will riot
