I think the point is that there’s no plot (lit fic) and the focus is on the character development. I feel for the main character - she goes somewhere that seems to feel more like home than her actual home, then has to leave and as a kid I’d imagine that’s super hard and confusing. I think it’s kind of interesting that the title is “Foster” because I feel like that implies a different vibe of temporary stay than our mc had. She wanted to stay forever but it was always going to be temporary. Maybe I just explained why it’s called “Foster” idk

This book was excellently written and frankly unenjoyable. I think that’s the point though right? You read this, get angry, and then fight for change.
