Pretty sure I started this book because I wanted to read something about someone my age and I wanted to feel a little better about that. And I guess I do feel better now but only because these characters are so unlikeable. Like Jules and her mommies I soothe myself by comparing myself to others I hate, only to feel worse off in the process?
“Things aren't so bad in my life, I think. At least I'm not one of these people or one of their followers. Then I realize that I am, of course, one of their followers—a devoted one, even, in my own fucked little way.”

beautiful! a little messy (like love! like revolution!) and some scent-sational writing…
to the person who said they didn’t care for the descriptions of men’s underarms: I’ve actually been waiting many years to read about what those seedy movie theaters smelled like! so this book is a dream come true
