Hi friends! I’m a founder of a fairly popular online literary magazine that publishes mostly poetry but also art and flash prose. I was wondering if anyone else from that world is using PB: any other editors, readers, or writers? I also have my degree in creative writing & send my own poetry out to occasionally get published :)
I lost most of my IRL friends that I would bond over this with when college ended because everyone moved back home or went to grad school. I would love more friends that enjoy this kind of world, especially friends that are also poets/writers!
If this applies to you even in the slightest, introduce yourself below 🫶👀👇

Hi guysss!! So I have been a fan of Agatha Christie for some time now and since reading her books, I have fallen in love with murder mystery novels. I want to branch out and check out other stories from different authors but don’t really know where to start.
Do you have any recommendations?

Lunar New Year is here! Prosperity and great health to all!
But I need your help PB! I’m going to be inundated with visits and my weird family culture (I’m sure I’m not the only one with these) is that I’m not allowed to read books or use an “iPad” size device which means my ereader is out. I can only use my phone to read whilst visiting, and unfortunately my current library is very NSFW indeed.
Please introduce me your greatest SFW reads! Some preference:
SFW in this instance here would be if a kid peeks at my screen no one is gonna string me up by my toes.
Thank you in advance!

Daily question...
What is the best food use you've ever seen in a book? Think of books where the author used it as a repeated theme, shared recipes in the book or just had fun with food.
The Briar Club by Kate Quinn is shares the recipes as they become relevant, as the pov changes. It's a wonderful way to make the story somewhat interactive. Color Me In by Riley Hart has the two protagonists meet in the 24hr diner (more than once), and they earn their nicknames from their food taste.
Thank you to everyone who answered yesterday. I've created a list with them for anyone who wants to see the whole collection.

What are some of the rules you guys have regarding your reading? Mine are: I always read at least one page before going to bed And as someone who is always reading an audiobook and an ebook/physical copy I‘ve made myself the rule that at least one of them has to be by an author of colour

Hi, sorry to be a bother but can a royal member please request a dark mode option? It won't let me submit a request since I am not a royal member. And also maybe be able to customize the colors on our profile page.

Hiii everyone💖 yesterday I read a manga and I've noticed that it isn't on Pagebound, and at home I've other books with the same problem😭. So I can't add them to my year goal. What should I do? This happened to you too?

The Coin by Yasmin Zaher came out in 2024, many have compared it to My Year of Rest and Relaxation but I personally enjoyed it more :)))

We've all had the JKR/Neil Gaiman conversation to death.
Who are the authors who don't get enough hate, especially as they continue to be assigned reading for school?
I'll go first!
Charles Dickens was a brute to his wife. So was Oscar Wilde. Both of them left the mothers of their children penniless in societies that treated poverty as a moral failure out of pure selfishness. To say nothing of the syphilis Constance Wilde contacted from her husband.
Do you like F. Scott Fitzgerald? No you don't. You like his wife Zelda. He plagiarized her so heavily, her name should be on those books right beside his. And speaking of coattailing it, Percy Shelley is only famous because of his wife, Mary Shelley. Without her, no one would care who he is. So riddle me why I studied his work in school and not hers.
Richard Eberhard may have been a US poet laureate who taught at universities all over the country. He was also a pedophile who sexually abused his own daughter.
Don't be shy! Drop more names in the comments. Who did you have to read in school who should've been cancelled a long time ago?
