I've just barely started but the style reminds me of Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, which is phenomenal and one of my all-time favourites, so I'm excited. I love the way the writing flows. I was in a bind regarding my next read -- so glad I picked this one!

There is something so tender and honest in the way this book is written. And the main characters are so kind and well-meaning. Love this so far

i have no idea if this would ever be possible, but thought i’d mention something i’ve always wanted out of a book app (literally i think about this every time i use storygraph) i’d looove if when adding a book to my tbr, i could add just a little note where i can document where i found out about the book and why in that moment im so intrigued to read it i just find my tbr can get so long i often look through it and see many books in which i have no recollection of where it was recommended to me, or why i was excited by it. especially as i tend to get my recommendations from many many sources. does this sound like something anybody else would enjoy too? perhaps could be a future suggestion the the page bound creators

I am rereading it more closely and I had forgotten how much I love it. It has such a sinister, eerie vibe especially at the start and there were so many details I had missed on my first read many years ago that its a treat to relive that experience

“Don’t count yourself out this early, Daisy. You’re all sorts of things you don’t even know yet.” I love that the oral history format. An easy, fun, no-nonsense read. Got through this pretty quickly and enjoyed it thoroughly. Edit: Been thinking about what this book reminded me of. It’s a fanfiction I read many years ago lol. This checks out — I dnf-ed a TJR book a few years ago because you could tell the author was either an avid fanfic reader or writer, and that bothered me. This time it didn’t! Thank god.
