I haven't let myself read any reviews about this because I prefer to go in blind, and im also telling myself that if a book has a rating around 3.5 that's not necessarily bad. anyways. I am letting myself have fun with this one and not thinking about it too hard. are some things probably unrealistic or dramatic? im sure LOL and I can already see in my head how some reviews might be bashing those things. BUT I AM LETTING MYSELF ENJOY IT FOR THE FUN OF IT!!! this is a romance book, we dont have to be 100% serious. but yeah I was just thinking about this again with girlie hitting her head and slipping and everything like 💀 okay clumsy queen

i am looking for a book that has the vibes of star stable online (i don’t wanna hear it from anyone that is my emotional support game) - so friendship, horses and magic but is more adult focused and not middle grade
i understand that’s a hard ask so im really asking for any horse type books cause i really love those vibes
if anyone has any suggestions please let me know! otherwise i feel like i just gotta write it myself

Does anyone have any light recs? Preferably not too long? I’m looking for my next audio read, and I just finished To Clutch A Razor by Veronica Roth and before that Vicious by VE Schwab. I loved them both a lot but I want smt lighter rn before going into my audio arc of Hazelthorn 😭
I very rarely like romance books(more specifically with romance as the main focus I think), with the exception of queer ones apparently, I don’t mind what genre as long as it light and I mostly go for any that makes me laugh. Mostly read epic fantasy, sci-fi, ya and contemporary
I’m thinking of Uncharmed by Lucy Jane Wood cause I did love her last book and it’s become a comfort read but idk.

Alix E Harrow did a great job making me actually care about these characters in such a short time! generally when I read novellas/short books I feel like I don't end up feeling connected to the characters at all by the end, but in this book they were well fleshed out (for a novella) and were likable. the plot was simple but had a lot of meaning to it. overall a good read and I enjoyed it!

So... I recently got approved for an audiobook on NetGally. I've never been big on audiobooks since I get distracted easily but I thought about giving it another shot as I actually got through a podcast and actually loved it (something I rarely do).
I actually love the book so far and I got the ebook, but I cant seem to focus... I dont know if its the narrator or the book or even just my environment but I really want to finish this with the audiobook as I got it from NetGally... does anyone have any tips? Any advice? Anything at all?
Thanks

"Rushing a patient to the OR to save only enough brain that his heart beats but he can never speak, he eats through a tube, and he is condemned to an existence he would never want…I came to see this as a more egregious failure than the patient dying."
let me pretend to be shocked at a doctor being casually ableist 😲

hiii friends!!! long time no see as ive been in a bit of a reading slump (aka ive been binge watching The Vampire Diaries and anime for the last few weeks instead of reading, oops) pleaseee drop your fav book recs that have helped you get out of a slump! I'm open to pretty much any genre, but romance/fantasy/sci-fi are my main reads :)
whether they have a first line that grabbed you right off the bat, the plot was fast paced, or it was just an easy read, please drop any and all recs below!
