tbh I never really thought too much about her name being Misery, maybe just because im used to fantasy books and the mcs generally having unique/weird names? but I actually kind of like it! it's more memorable than something plain like "Laura" (no shade to any Lauras out there)

something I've seen people mention is the world building names seeming a bit lazy, but I feel like considering Ali Hazelwood's other works and her not generally being any sort of fantasy writer it doesn't bug me? like if it were a high fantasy focused book I might be like okay just calling them "Weres" and calling the language "the tongue" might seem lazy or id want more novelty, but coming from Ali who just generally writes spicy science romance, I think its fine đ and tbh I like the simplicity because when im choosing to read something like this I don't want anything overly complicated so far as world building goes. keeping it simple with "vampyres" and "weres" is great with me đ

I just have to say I love how much Lowe and Misery are still involved and at least being referenced in this book. I hope that continues through the whole thing đ„Č I need to continue seeing Serena and Misery content
