A sweet, swoony fantasy romance between mismatched roommates David (a stoic accountant) and Meredith (a sprightly, dreamy tattoo artist beloved by humans and magical creatures of all varieties but impossible to live with). The fantasy world of the book wasn't entirely my cup of tea - it seemed to mash up every fairytale imaginable with no rules or sense of order - but the main focus of the story was David and Meredith's emotional journeys, both separately (David attempts move forward, rather conventionally, in his career and life, while Meredith struggles difficult family dynamics) and together. Both of the main characters were depicted in such detailed and realistic fashion, and I loved reading their interactions and watching them slowly come together.

[I received a complimentary ARC from NetGalley and the publisher. Opinions are my own.]
