I love an interesting or fun story regardless of genre (however, I do have a favorite, it's fantasy) and would love some bookish conversation

    Book Nostalgia ✨

I was talking to my partner about what we used to read when we were younger and what books or series are super nostalgic to us and I was just wondering, what are some books like that for you? ☺️ Are there any books or series that are really nostalgic for you or maybe really shaped you in your younger years?

For me I think it’s probably The Hunger Games (like probably 90% of my generation😅), I just reread them as an adult for the first time and it was soooo great. Really nostalgic, but also such a different experience to read them with a fully developed frontal lobe (I’m looking at you Gale 🤨) And also (!) the infamous Warriors series (or Warrior Cats as they are called in German), I was the biggest fan (borderline obsessed tbh), I’m pretty sure I’ll never read them again, but they are very dear to my heart ❤️

But anyways, what are some of your nostalgic reads? I’m curious! 😇

  • Bookish Podcasts 📚 🎧

Do any of you have favorite bookish podcasts? If so what are they? Some of mine include:

    • Lit Society: Books and Drama (ended December 2025)
    • Book Club for Masochists: a Readers' Advisory Podcast
    • Reading Glasses
    • What Should I Read Next

I listen to bookish podcasts either for recommendations for general interest in a new book or genre, to listen to reviews of books I have read (or will never read) or to know what's going on in the bookish space in general. I tend to rotate podcasts through different reading seasons based on how I'm feeling.

Saw this on my facebook and intended to sent it privately to my best friend but I messed up and share it on my profile for all my FB friends to see. It became a happy accident because my book friends (whom haven't talked to in a while) engaged on the post and we had fun on roasting my chaotic evil friends.

I'm lawful evil. You? alt text

  • Book clubs!

What are some online book club reccs? I am an introvert and I much prefer to meet and discuss books online! I am looking for bookclubs that either you all read the same book at different paces or where you kinda just come together to discuss the books you are reading. Also what do you look for in a book club? What do you like dislike about them? I love building up/being a part of a community with a shared interest. The con for me is that I can be a slow reader/mood reader so it can be hard to keep up with sometimes!!

  • Book Ratings!

    Hey everyone! ✨

I wonder if you all have a certain type of system for rating the books you've read? Or do you just rate it on vibes, like me? I have always been hesitant to rate some books 5 stars previously (for whatever reasons) but now, I have been more open to giving 5 stars ⭐ if I really really love it!

That being said, I'd like to set up a certain rating system for books 🤔 and would like to hear how you all rate your books?✨

  • rose, bud, thorn (but with books!)

rose: a recent read that you loved bud: what you're reading next OR a release you're excited for thorn: a book that you didn't like (or DNF'd)

  • RIP my streak

I lost a 39 day streak because I am so deep in Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream 😩 should I start a support group for others affected by this crisis?

  • SOS (has been completed)

I was going to post this in the Jack Reacher forum but it is pretty empty over there. I’m at the library with my partner and they want to start reading those books but not sure if you need to read them in order or if they are relatively self contained. Any help would be appreciated. I’m also googling. They almost never show interest in reading hence the emergency.

Edit: thank you all for your help I really appreciate the advice. My partner has decided to start with the first one and see how they like it.
