I need a moment to recover oh my god
Second read edit:
Idk if I’m in the minority, but this one is my personal favorite of the series so far. They’re all SO incredible in their own ways but I have such a soft spot for the dynamic between Cam, Pal, Nona, and Pyrrha, that even on my first read, the first few chapters were enough to solidify this series as my favorite of all time. It’s perfect from start to finish. There’s not one moment in this book that I find to be slow or unimportant. The last like 10 chapters of this book make me weep so much still that it took like 5x as long to get through it the second time LOL
Still dont know how she manages to make each book better than the last, but if this book was meant to be just the first act of Alecto??? Tamsyn I’m gonna need the rest of it ASAP thank you!!
Third read edit: With this done, my goal of annotating all three books is completed!

Look, this is like, my fifth time re-reading this. I LOVE this series. I adore reading the theories and meta analyses of those much smarter than me. I am in awe of the brilliance of Moira Quirk’s narration and Tamsyn Muir’s incredible brain. I even enjoy the fact we are in an Alectopause because it feels like a long-term Christmas Eve.
I am just so normal about these books

This was my first Emily Austin book! The writing style immediately got me hooked. As a little sister, I can only imagine the turmoil for any big sister out there reading this WHEWWW 🥲 It was very good, I’m looking forward to reading more from this author (the next time I want to cry 😭).

Some parts went on for way too long 😫 Maybe I’m not cut out for the academia genre but hey at least I knew all about Orpheus and Eurydice for this one!! Really enjoyed getting to know these characters and slowly unveiling their back stories!
