I recently saw the social media that a lot of people only read dialogues instead of the entire text from prologue to epilogue just to hit a reading goal. And that absolutely baffles me because I cannot imagine reading without knowing any plot lines or character descriptions, et cetera.
So Iād like to ask the Pagebound community how do you all read ? Do you read every single word, imagine the scenes, and analyse ?

DNFed as the world building was really weak and itās really long descriptions of characters and plots that feels really draggy and I donāt see where the story is ļæ¼going. ļæ¼The synopsis seems really great, but I expect better writing and Iāve also expected a little more depth. Not gonna lie, Iād rather read a wattpad story.

Listening to this felt like watching a man drown while he clings ever more desperately to a shark that keeps biting him; yet he insists that this struggle with the animal gives him an identity and a purpose. I mostly felt sad.
I want to go back in time and tell the author that it's okay to take a break but given everything I have learned about him through this book, I doubt he would have listened.

It's the time of the week where you can humble brag away about anything you learned this week through your reading. Whether it's a non-fiction piece of trivia, a tidbit you learned about yourselves or others, or a deep dive - we wanna hear it all!!
I have been in a bit of a reading slump, (looks at her currently reading shelf in shame) so no good trivia from me but I have re-learned I can't really do billionaire romances. I get too angry at the displays of wealth to enjoy the romance. But I'm learning that I think it extends to all escapist romance for me.
This is a little odd because I would call myself an escapist reader for pretty much my entire life, but I'm noticing with romance I need it to be grounded for the best chance of me loving it. Romances where one more of the leads are too extraordinary (outside of being fantasy/paranormal entities) or too perfect (including being unfathomably attractive) brings down my enjoyment. Idk if anyone else is like that. I 110% see the market for escapist romance, don't get me wrong, it just doesn't seem to work for me!
