Im not sure what to think about this, but unfortunately, I don’t like it as much as I thought I would, it just kind of bores me. I’ll try to read on but I’m not sure if I’ll finish this one

Had to go back to my favorite quote again:
«Having drunk some hot milk, Ivan lay down again...»
Which, in my opinion, is just so much funnier in the Norwegian translation:
«Ivan drakk seg utørst på varm melk og la seg nedpå igjen...»
Which literally translates to: «Ivan drank himself unthirsty on warm milk and laid down again...»
It's just so funny for no good reason 😭

Perfectly macabre passage I read today:
«Everything around somehow lifeless and so dismal that one just longed to hang oneself from that aspen by the bridge. Not a puff of breeze, not a movement of the clouds, and not a living soul. What a hellish place for a living man!»
I'm reading in norwegian. When posting quotes I like to find the english equivalent of it, to share with a wider audience, but I honestly often like the norwegian translation better. A lot of the time it's just phrased funnier:
«Alt omkring var likesom så dødt og nitrist at man mest fikk lyst til å henge seg i aspetreet ved broen. Ikke et vindpust, ikke en sky som rørte på seg og ikke en levende sjel å se. Riktig et helvedes sted for et levende menneske!»
