  • Horror without the graphic animal abuse/death, no graphic SA, and no body horror related to insects? Do these exist?

Okay, so inspired by @thebogwitch's post.

Do any horror or maybe horror lite/thriller-horror, books exist without graphic depictions of animal abuse/death, graphic sexual assault,(it can be mentioned or happen in a very brief passage, preferably a paragraph or less), and no body horror related to insects or aracnids? [I have a serious problem with intrustive thoughts related to bugs & the like if I read about it or get one on me. (Yes, I'm in therapy)]

Oh, and light on the child abuse, especially by the parents, preferred as well!

I like thrillers, I've read RIley Sager's books, I've read one, i think, Grady Hendrix book, How to Sell a Haunted House. I went through a YA horror thing a few years back when I read a bunch for Halloween 2-years in a row, and those i could handle. Hauntings are fine with me

I have a very neurospicy brain, and especially if i read it before bed, when I usually read, I tend to have quite intense dreams about it. As well as some past trauma, but I love a good creepy book.
