i really loved all the twists and turns in this book, because you can’t fully trust the narrator and that just makes everything even more intriguing. i felt like i was being played with, like my sense of reality was constantly being questioned. in that sense, i think the book really succeeded.
i’m giving it four stars though, because by the time we get to the ending, everything still feels a bit too open. not just “open ending” open, but more like the way it’s written keeps the mysteries a little too obscure. i don’t mind an open ending, or even mysteries that are meant to be answered in a sequel, but i still think there should be some sense of completeness so it doesn’t feel totally up in the air.
but personally, i’m a fan. and yes, i’ll definitely be reading the sequel.

So far this one is actually pretty intriguing, and I hate that it has me curious because the main character is such a chronic people-pleaser. Lol but fine… if they actually said no once in their life the entire plot would collapse, so I guess I’ll allow it 😂 I’m still in that phase of “wait… what is really going on here?” but in a good way.
