Twice in a Blue Moon

I think I ended up being the wrong audience for this book. I did not connect with the plot or characters and the dialogue felt sooo stilted and forced. Vague Christian undertones which is fine but the longer I read the more it felt like a book for my mom’s bookclub. I only finished it because I had nothing else to read during a slow day at work.

Look, I love how well this author makes you feel the characters noticing these little things about each other and slowly getting to know each other, but the twist in this one made all that feel robbed to me. I felt like it messed up the emotional connection I made with the characters. Still giving this 3 stars because her writing is beautiful. But this one was not my favorite.

Loved this! Got totally sucked in. Enjoyed the story and all the characters and the overall theme of fate vs. choice.

I don’t really know what to say about this book other than I don’t quite understand how I’m supposed to feel about any of the characters. Some of it felt just downright ridiculous in the end and the two main characters “love story” was anything but that to me. The audiobook version of this was definitely unique though and kept me going (also this is a bookclub pick so I had to finish).
