I started listening to this when my soul dog was sick and essentially in Hospice care. He’s earned his wings now and this book feels like everything I need to express about grief. It’s so beautiful and hurts so much because I love him so deeply.
Read in increments if you can, to let the beauty of the human experience really sink in.
If you can’t talk while you’re in the thick of grief, this book is a solid companion during that time. I promise you won’t feel so alone.

I LOVE that Sylvie isn't portrayed as the bitchy new 'sidepiece' of Anna's ex-husband but a truly sweet woman who actually wants to be part of the family 🥹 I hope Anna will eventually warm to the idea!

I've never read a holiday-themed book in anticipation of the holiday but my friend lent this to me... kinda nervous, lets see how it goes

This is the third memoir I’ve read that has a strong father with, let’s say, unusual, maybe even harmful, ideas about how to raise his children. The other two books were written prior to this one. Tolstoy wrote that happy families were all the same, but that unhappy ones were different in their own unique ways. I’m hoping there will be something that distinguishes this book from its predecessors, though from what I’ve read so far, I’m not terribly optimistic. Otherwise, it’s going to get boring for me pretty quickly.

Why is the tension tensioning. I love any dynamic of the flirt and the one he can't woo, but instead has to earn. Ahhhh I'm just eagerly awaiting at this point.

Took me a minute to get into this, but that was a really intriguing first chapter. I’m invested now.

I have been stuck on 20-30% of this book and I really can’t move from here for last 1,5 year. I think I left one book in my life as DNF and it’s killing me. Should I continue? I need motivation 😭😭
