Lowk the book of all time…my third?? Fourth reread? I lost count! I’m like Marianne Sheridan if she was fat and stupid. I highlight half of her internal dialogue or her responses in conversations and think “oh that’s so me I’m gonna shoot myself” IJBOL I love this book!! It’s draining but I love coming back to it and seeing how much Connell and Marianne as individuals have an effect on each others lives, even if they never say it out loud you can feel it, or read them thinking about it. They are stuck in a pit of never ending “will we? Are we? We’re not? When will we? Will we ever?” from their poor communication and not saying. how they really feel. Anyway I’m tired (probably explains any grammatical mistakes), it’s midnight and I have classes. Looking forward to Lorraine clocking her son’s tea again she’s my fave character apart from Marianne. Every reread I like her even more.

I like how normal everyone is in this book…like no 6’5 8 inch dick chiseled jaw abs muscular billionaire ladies man with a traumatic past or 5’3 petite clear skinned thick long hair highest grades who is also the most beautiful woman you’ve ever seen…just really normal people (that is not a reference ok or maybe it is 😏), who are average, with their own mistakes and flaws and are not always good at communication. This book has a lot of ups and downs, and the relationships are all messy. Not much is happening, Sally Rooney you have convinced me to read conversations with friends! Someday…

I love the sound of Aoife McMahon’s voice. I hope this book isn’t too draining because as we all know, normal people is the book of all time, but it is incredibly DRAININGGGG. Sucks the life out of you draining. Fingers crossed ijbol
