He had an affectionate heart. He must love somebody.
This is why I keep rereading Austen. I love how she describes her characters. I feel like I'm gossiping with a witty friend.
Also I noticed how similar the way Anne reacts when she learns Captain Benwick likes Louisa, and the way Elizabeth reacts when she learns Wickham "likes" Miss King (right? The one with money I forget her name). They both have no big feelings and no hurt pride. It's Austen's way of telling us she's just not that into him...

Just damn!
The characters are amazing. The plot is woven with such grace and care. Some twists you see coming in the most well thought out way. The prose is delightful. Didn't the think the second person POV would work but it was enjoyable and kept me from mixing up the POVs Just brilliant can't wait to see where the rest of the series goes

This took me over a month to get through because I almost bawled my eyes out every other chapter. It wasn't the massacres or the air raids that got me. It would just be an innocent moment that Ruqaya's family would be having and I would be crying about how much was taken from them.
Just damn! I have to read all of her books now...
