It's a silly thing to mention but I've noticed in both A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of Four, ACD doesn't say they lay on their stomachs or front or chest but that they are laying on their face. I just can't take the scene seriously when all I can picture are these men nose to floor crawling around looking for clues 😂
