It’s that time of the week again!
What was everyone’s bookish highlight of this past week? Whether it was finishing a book, going to an event, completing a quest - anything you want!!
This past weekend I spent in Hay-on-Wye, which to anyone who doesn’t know is a town in Wales 🏴 & is the world’s first Book Town. It has about 40 bookshops, including the world’s largest secondhand bookshop. I had the most amazing time and it fulfilled a long awaited bookish dream of mine 🩷🩷📚

Sadly didn't exceed my expectation, The writing was way too descriptive, down to unrelated things. Some of unrelated cases also one of the objective that distrupt my focus on the recent case. The depth expliration abou women, victim's struggle in a rape case, facing the wrath of people who assume that the person is way too nice to be a prepetator. Is indeed so captivating and well written.
You should read this one carefully, there's some scene, and explanation that explore suicidal event and disturbing SA scene. If this book present more straightforward narrative it could be 4.5, but again, no offense this was just personal opinion 🤟

I feels exhausted reading till this point. It is heartbreaking, despite the truth, as a woman myself this is too overwhelming, might trigger something to other.. It is sad everytime i read clueless little hannah's past, bring misfortune to her sister(i suppose) but still shes still a kid. And the case, season 3, it is also drag my emotion so much to the point that i wanted to give up, but i also curious of the result

I must admit that throughout reading i pictured these character as the actors of k-drama called The Red Sleeve (iykyk), so i gone a bit astray and potrayed the inspector as crown prince in disguise at a early chapter. I enjoyed reading it soo much, except in indonesian copy there's no footnote for a few of words that need explanation (they even printed it italic but didn't gave any notes). Now back to the story, im a bit mad everytime i found strong willed character somehow get super weak and act stupid in a crucial time, it is indeed bring the tension towards the ending more ✨️dramatic✨️ but still annoying to read. Not so bad that it ruined the fun, still bear-able. The Murder Mystery also keeps me hooked! Despite being in Jeoseon era, the way they pay attention to details, new facts, hints, and every new discovery appears like a fresh breeze in every chapter. Political issue in the Palace is also a plus point to add. The character being a commoner and nobility, works together and ✨️sparks✨️ love in the air just enough to not ruin the murder investigation is a briliant execution.
Overall this is a very enjoyable read!! Hope this one couls be adapted to a movie or drama, tho a lots of story based on Crown Prince Sado is plenty already, but this could be another interesting one to watch! Fingercrossed 🫣
