Hello and welcome to the Epic Sci-Fi and Fantasy Series Quest! I'm so excited this is live for you to enjoy.

My goal with this quest is to encourage people to read the heftier series and worlds that the genres have to offer. My criteria is that the series must either by 5+ books OR there's an established world/universe with multiple series, in order to make the list. I looked for a variety of older and newer works, authors, and SFF subgenres as sci-fi and fantasy is diverse and this quest should reflect that. I tried to be kind and made the quest book the FIRST book in series/world, although some are debated, rather than the LAST 😉.

If you have any suggestions, please let me know below! I will add to this quest periodically. I'm especially excited to discuss the reading order of some of these with you all as I currently only have Silver in this quest and need to get to work! Happy reading!

WELCOME Excited to read-along with you all with these fantasy books that are inspired by Asian folklore, history, culture and more.

I remember listening to my mother retelling me Korean folklore as a child and being so enamored by the stories. It has been awhile since listening/reading to any Asian-inspired stories, and I am ready to restart this journey as an adult—especially as a group.

While I tried my best to curate a varied list, it was brought to my attention that many of the current selections lean East Asian (reflecting my background) and that a few of the originally selected books were not written by Asian authors. I am thankful for the community to raise this concern, however, those titles can’t be removed without affecting badges already earned. Moving forward, I’ll prioritize books written by Asian authors and continue expanding beyond East Asia.

• Criteria: Asian-inspired, fantasy, and written by fellow Asian Authors
• Each Book Title and Author has its own comment.
• Also double check that the book you are requesting is not already on the quest or in the comments.
• Upvote other recs you like in the comments, this will give me an idea what the community is interested in.
