I love fiction books but I tend to dislike when romance is distracting. I'm looking for a story to entrance me that I can't put down without romance. Would love to hear what everyone likes!

...two observations: 1) It still reads pretty well (reading in Russian), even though some words/phrases are obv outdated 2) I'm glad that I skipped it in high school (i was too cool for reading), because there's no way the 16-year-old me could've engaged with it the way it needs to be engaged with. I'm enjoying it a lot!!

Hi! I just watched "Timeline", and I think of reading the book it is based on (even tho I read the film is very loosely based on the book). I want some recommendations on time travel novels that centre on adventure in historical periods (I may be a bit picky being this specific). :)
