Clear as day, every so often, modern values are shown. It's no news Greek myths had intercourse with animals (half of mythology wouldn't exist if Zeus didn't turn into an animal to get some), I don't need the characters to show they are very against it, I don't expect them to be. it's what comes with reading Greek mythology, you'll come across very wild things.

I've seen a few posts about this, and it's made me curious bc reading is fairly subjective, in our interpretations or interests. What defines "romantasy" for you? For me, "romantasy" is where the romance elements drive the plot with fantasy intertwined, vs. "fantasy with romance" is where the fantasy elements drive the plot with romance intertwined. Would love to know others thoughts/self-definitions! I think as new and continuous readers discover genres, it can be important to self-define these things, especially when publishers/booktok/social media™ advertise this stuff to us constantly. If you have other genres you think fit the above question, what are they? I'm also asking as a librarian bc we have wildly different ways to catalog "themes" (thank you Dewey, may you never rest in peace)

a drought is also a slump by extension, but in a drought, you do read but none of the books bring you any joy, they do not change your world for the better, you get bored halfway through and you end up DNFing or hating the book. a drought makes you forget what it was like to love reading new books. a drought could last weeks on end, months too. in short, help me. PS. I made reading drought up so.

A bit sifficult to follow, the format styling change for the change of stories sometimes is difficicult to see. I understand It's a debut novel meant for fans of the short series, so I won't sweat it.

It still amazes me how relevant this book is. One thing that struck me about this work was how different it was interpreted by people from different countries (I read it in uni). History repeats itself, usually said, and yes, hearing people from countries that have been close to living in the reality of this book, and who think it is impossible for it to happen because they didn't end up like that that one time... It is scary to think that for some people this work was real and for others it seems like pure fiction.

Hi! I just watched "Timeline", and I think of reading the book it is based on (even tho I read the film is very loosely based on the book). I want some recommendations on time travel novels that centre on adventure in historical periods (I may be a bit picky being this specific). :)
