I had high hopes for this book. However, in the end, I was very disappointed. I personally loved Whitney‘s character because she was like an icon being able to manage three different major careers while also wanting to know her daughter. However Myles was just okay. I feel like their romance was just forced and it happened randomly than it being like a connection that was slowly built.

“You realize that you don’t have to accept the versions of people who no longer align with who you are, right? People change and grow at different paces. Sometimes you outgrow them, even if you love them. Don’t get so comfortable having people in your life that you don’t know when it’s time to remove them.”

Where is my Channing? In this book, we have the main character Rhythm who is the girlfriend of rapper Raheem. Despite being his girlfriend, she prefers to be in the background and not the spotlight of his career. He starts making her uncomfortable due to the actions and the public appearances of him in his label mates. That’s when their relationship starts to come in end due to continuous public disrespect. Rhythm does not want to be disrespected in public and she is prepared to move on peacefully from Raheem. She then meet Channing on multiple occasions before taking a chance with him which means it’s fate and destiny. It was honestly so cute and such a fun read. This book shows you what and healthy relationship can be between two characters. Then I also appreciate that Rhythm stood up for herself, and never took treatment that she knew she didn’t deserve.
