vibrant, hopeful, interstellar: space operas
“the universe is what we make of it. it’s up to you to decide what part you will play.”
space opera is a type of sci-fi that focuses on interstellar travel and epic adventures, often with larger-than-life characters, dramatic plots, and an optimistic tone. originally coined in the 1940s as an insult, it has since grown into a vibrant and expansive subgenre.

Not my normal cup of tea, but a fascinating read regardless. Julie Clark creates a world that is masterfully crafted to be confusing, waiting for it to unravel itself only as the main character chooses to see the puzzles within the mystery. I would reccomend it to someone who enjoys cold case mysteries.

What can I say? I love Emily B. Martin's works, and this is not exception. The follow up to "Sunsheild," "Floodpath" takes us through the adventures in the desert and redwoods following Lark, Vera, and Tamsin as they try to uncover the plot against them. From wild west adventures to political intrigue, this book will keep you at the edge of your seat.
Highly recommend.
