Just started this book as an audiobook and I love it so far! I love the cozy atmosphere, the quirky, sleepy Bailyville, and the characters. I admire Alice's courage and its intersting to see her struggling to escape her boring married life. So far, Bennet seems like a pretty bad husband; he has zero interest in Alice. I wonder if he's gay or having an affair. Why else would he always stay away from Alice? Bennet's father really gets on my nerves, but he is written in a sympathic way. I can laugh at his strange behavior when they are eating! I love Margery, and I like how vividly the author describes nature. The suspicious mountain inhabitants are authentic and fun to read about. You really feel like you're in Kentucky. Jojo Moyes doesn't disappoint! :)

It's an engaging and emotionally layered story that offers more than a typical romance novel. Although I’m not usually a fan of the romance genre, I genuinely enjoyed reading this book. The story is interesting and well-paced, with depth that goes beyond the central love story.
Each of the characters brings personality and substance to the story, making the world feel more complete and dynamic.
