This book surprised me in the best way. I was initially hesitant, mostly because the MMC is the town sheriff from the first book in the series, and ACAB. Cops don't do it for me in romance books.

But I trusted that the authors would handle it, and they did. I'm impressed. Ethan's character arc surprised me, and I wasn't expecting to get teary-eyed during his final monologue, but đŸ„č

This book cemented my trust in these authors to handle romance in the modern age, and I'm looking forward to reading more from them!
