Okay, I really am liking this more now. My main complaint with the first book and the beginning of this book was just how childlike Alexis was written. She didn't read like a 19 almost 20 year old, especially not one that had been homeless for years and responsible for her little brother. I would think that she would have grown up faster because of that, not had her maturity stunted. And yes, I'm aware that she is supposed to be neurospicy of some kind but that just feeds into my next point 👉 her being very childlike made the romance themes of the first book and a quarter kinda gross.
ALL THAT BEING SAID. About 25% into this book, Alexis started being written just slightly different. It's subtle. She's still a weirdo and mentally unwell but it doesn't FEEL like she's only 12 years old anymore. So now, the romantic themes don't bother me and I can finally start to enjoy myself without having to worry about when it's gonna feel icky again! Yay character development!

Hiiiii! I would love to get into one of Illona Andrews's series. Should I just start with Kate Daniels or should I start with another?
Similarly, does anyone have thoughts about the Guild Hunters Series by Nalini Singh?

Without doxing yourself plzzz
Some of you are reading so much with full time jobs😭 I gotta know what y’all do and how many hours you’re doing it. I know a few people are lucky enough to get to read on the job! That’s the dream.

To all my series people who believe that "you gotta wait til the second book then it gets good." What series do you fully stand behind when you say this?
I'm on the "If it's not good by the end of the second book, then it's not a good series at all" train. For those people, what's your limit?
Are you more strict? More generous?
What are your thoughts?
