as i finish this book it is 10am on a sunday and i am full on sobbing into my coffee. i have never in my life rated a book 5 stars but this one really earned it.
the book deals with some really heavy topics but the writing handles it so gently, with such lightness of touch, that it feels reassuring instead, like: here are all the ways life is shit, and here are all the ways it's worth it anyway. the best depiction of depression i've ever read in a book. i don't know if i'll ever be able to read this again but i will definitely think about it for years. i love ove and his found family!!!!!
as a sidenote. i kept reading ove as in ovie as in alex ovechkin of the washington capitals and accidentally imagining his face in there took me out sometimes
