This book is not a sequel to The Giver. It is set in a futuristic world like The Giver, but it does not give you any more information about Jonas's story.
This book had great writing, and the story was progressing at a good speed. The only thing that really made me mad about this book was the ending. It just not what I wanted to happen. Although there are several clues in throughout the book that lead up to it, it just not satisfying.
This book was written in a somewhat interesting way, but didn't seem to have a point to it. It may get better at the end, but I stopped about 70% through it because it didn't seem like it was going anywhere. The whole first half is about the main character's grandmother and mother's lives, so it doesn't make a lot of sense as to why that was important.
