Well, let's see how this goes.

I originally had no interest in this book, just from the description. But I couldn't stop hearing about it everywhere I went. Some people would say "it's amazing!" Other people would say "it's garbage!" Never anything in between.

I found a copy yesterday while browsing in my local Little Free Libraries. I thought, "You know what, why not."

I'm about three pages in. I'm interested in what is happening so far, but I have no idea whether that will change. We shall see.

I have been on a reality show romance kick lately so I was very excited to read and review this ALC from Netgalley and Victory Editing!

Autumn Mercer and Brandon Francis were excellent choices for the narration of this book, and having it be a true duet was a wonderful delight. We love a he falls first and harder situation where you can feel the yearning. Brandon Francis did an excellent job of portraying Alex and making me love him. I enjoyed the baking competition backdrop and the banter our main characters had. Although the book was a little short, the parts that were rushed or skipped over via time jump didn’t take away from the overall plot development. I really enjoyed this one!

the duet narration for the audiobook is working sooo well! you can definitely tell alex is falling just by the way the narrator talks when he’s talking to her 🥲

I hate that this man’s name is Leith, so I am trying to be brave and strong. It’s definitely helping that he seems to be my favorite brand of boy so far the, “i love the stressed and mean girl especially when she’s mean to me and i know that the more i can make her be mean to me, the less she can focus on her stress so i am going to bother her into ‘anger’ any chance i get” type of boy.

    Female Fantasy

All's fair in love and lore. Joonie is living in a fantasy—at least that's what people keep telling her. A copywriter by day and fanfic auteur by night, Joonie continues to date and dump disappointing men in search of a happily ever after. But every potential suitor seems to have one flaw in They can't hold a candle to her book boyfriend, Ryke. The protagonist of her favorite fantasy romance series (and, notably, a sexy merman), Ryke is a symbol for the life Joonie craves and the kind of relationship she deserves. So with a book always in her back pocket, why would she ever settle for less? But when Joonie learns that Ryke's character is based on someone the author knows in real life, she embarks on an epic quest to track him down, meet him in person, and determine once and for all if soulmates really do exist. Unfortunately, her brother's annoying best friend who doesn't believe in love or happy endings insists on hitching a ride. And like any great hero's journey, it doesn't take long for the trials and tribulations to begin.  As Joonie fights her way toward her love interest, using the skills she acquired through reading, she'll learn an important You can pursue a fantasy, but you can't always write your own plot. As unhinged as it is brilliant, Female Fantasy is both a self-aware dive into the concept of genre and a wild, steamy romp. Most of all, though, it's a heartfelt love letter to romance readers everywhere.
