Well, I have officially entered the depression stage of grief over the beach read m*vie. thinking about gus’ monologue in chapter 17 and i’m genuinely distraught over the idea of patrick schwarzenegger being cast as him. i think about Yulin Kuang’s instagram post where the caption talked about casting gus based on january’s casting and not necessarily based on the book all the time and get so unbelievably upset. then, i saw a tik tok where someone pointed out that even casting/the director didn’t choose gus and now i’m legitimately crying over this fictional character. emily henry, if you have a secret pagebound account and you’re reading this, im so sorry they’re doing this to y(our) book 💔
