I would have rated it 5 stars, but the beginning of the audiobook was meh, for me, and at times, I was confused and felt the pacing was slow. It wasn't until it was over halfway through that I really got invested, and the storyline picked up with the twists. I was screaming, yelling, and crying over the characters.

This book was AMAZING! From the very beginning, V.E. Schwab had me hooked. I love her writing style. It's easy to follow, captivating, immersive, and very well descriptive.
I loved how you could see the difference between the parallel Londons through the eyes of both Kell and Lilah.
Magic always comes at a price. I was literally on the edge of my seat through the pages because of how tense the ending was getting.

This was a great sequel to The Housemaid. The book was very well written and fast-paced. I was on the edge of my seat, flipping through the pages to figure out what would happen. Freida McFadden does an outstanding job at keeping us readers entertained and engaged with the storyline. The plot twists and turns were done so well that I didn't see them coming. My mind was blown.

"If I leave this house, it will be in handcuffs."
From the very beginning, Freida McFadden had me hooked. The Housemaid is the first book by the author I've read, and I'm so glad it was my first. It didn't disappoint. This book had me on the edge of my seat, with my mouth hanging wide open as shocking twists and turns popped up. I will be reading more books by her.
