Thank you for the ARC! This book was as much tension as can be imagined from a forced proximity. For those fans of Love Below you are going to want to check this book out! The struggles, the crew relationships, the atmospheric scene set on a boat, mixed in with tension only a chef could cut with a knife ;) made for an entertaining story I didn’t want to put down. It was my favorite version of spice (not included in the first chapter but naturally developed between the characters.

Thank you the opportunity to listen to this ALC. I really enjoyed the immersive experience into Brooklyn pre-gentrification. The narrator did a great job with the accents and portrayals of individual characters. I really felt the power of the friendships and found family and its transformative power in setting up our lives. It sounds like a love letter to Brooklyn but really the people and the memorable experiences were what made that time in her life transformative. It takes you back to a place that you long to return to long after you can.

Thank you for the opportunity to read this ARC! I knew instantly I would be drawn into an epic historical love story. A story that stretched continents and tested being true to oneself and the sacrifices we make for familial expectations. The characters were rich and complex with deep emotional passions and I loved the imagery of love being woven through those relationships. If you are looking for an atmospheric read based on the trials and tribulations of the heart this book will speak to your soul.
