    Such an amazing read.

Anyone else read this book every year around the holidays?

Love coming back to this one.

“The most important thing in the life of every man and every woman is not that they should never fall along the way. The important thing is always to get back up”

I don’t read poetry often enough, but I’m so glad I picked this book up. The author did a great podcast interview on Soul Boom, and then I blitz through her book in one sitting.

Any suggestions for more books of poetry? I was thinking of starting to make my way through Mary Oliver’s work.

“Creative work is not a selfish act or a bid for attention on the part of the actor. It’s a gift to the world and every being in it. Don’t cheat us of your contribution. Give us what you’ve got.”

“The professional arms himself with patience, not only to give the stars time to align in his career, but to keep himself from flaming out in each individual work. He knows that any job, whether it’s a novel or a kitchen remodel, takes twice as long as he thinks and costs twice as much. He accepts that. He recognizes it as reality.”

So good. Anyone else love re-reading this book?
