Do you like your chapters long or short? Or you don't care either way? - you'll get through the book regardless. For some reason, shorter chapters make me motivated to keep reading. Even when I'm fully immersed in a good book, a long chapter feels like I'm fighting to get to the next one 🤦🏻♀️ definitely a mental thing. Whats your preference??

An introduction to the Romance genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.

"Cats had an image problem. In 1862, Beeton's Book of Home Pets told its readers that, 'it is the fashion to ascribe to the cat very few good qualities. She is said to be selfish, cruel, greedy, and without an atom of affection; indeed, to be in disposition the very reverse to the dog.' If a cat provided pest-control services to a household, then it wasn't because it had been trained to do so or wanted to help but because it enjoyed chasing, torturing and eating creatures that were smaller than itself. One thirteenth-century pope had even suggested that the cat was Satan in disguise."

I've reached the end of chapter 10, and there's been some very dark stuff in this book so far. I knew cats weren't always exactly beloved animals, but the extent of the historical disregard and cruelty is really shocking. I'm giving my cat extra cuddles tonight!
