If you deal with chronic illness, Wolff puts the words of that experience on the page in a way that only someone who is ‘ill’ would know. I’ve found so much of myself in reading, but this was the first time I felt seen as someone who is chronically ill. She explained so eloquently why so many books that included illness didn’t seem to fully capture what I felt. Brilliant essay
