The way this book is written around such an unlikeable main character is genuinely impressive. She’s pretentious, vain, and convinced she’s better than everyone else, and as a reader you almost enjoy hating her and waiting for it to catch up with her.
However I have mixed thoughts overall as I struggled with parts of the story. The pacing felt slow at times, and some of the relationships didn’t fully make sense. The ending was a little unsatisfying and could have done with more explanation as some plot points felt underdeveloped or not entirely believable.
A compelling concept with a strong yet frustrating narrator, but the execution didn’t fully land for me.

Such a fun read! From the very start, I could tell this was going to be a weird and witty story, the wordplay immediately set the tone.
It’s brilliantly written, with a really playful style and satire that feels effortless. There’s a balance of mystery and intrigue alongside moments that feel oddly normal and trivial, which makes the whole thing even more unpredictable.
Overall, a clever, entertaining read that doesn’t take itself too seriously, while still keeping you hooked.
