MANNNNNNNNN I had high hopes for this one and I just couldn’t muscle through. I think there’s a really fun lovable romance novel in there, it just needs editing to help it shine and unfortunately I’m not in a place to put on blinders and dig for what I want out of the story. Too much internal narration, not enough tension and stakes. If you’re looking for a low stakes, dare I say cozy? and too-sweet love story, this will be right up your alley, it’s just not up mine (right now) hence the dnf. 💔

Okkkkkk OK this was a “what am I even reading right now” sometimes but if you’re in the mood for a romance set against a backdrop of horror with some religious trauma thrown in, it’s a fun read!

I’m so mad Direbound was an almost 10/10 read for me and I waited for fury bound on bated breath only for it to SUCK. what happened here??? where did the editing go?? this became so predictable in an un-fun way. If I hadn’t love Direbound so much I think I wouldn’t be so upset by this book but man this one just really killed the series for me. Also felt dragged out way more than it needed to be - not everything needs to be a trilogy of 900 page books it’s ok to edit babes

OH MY GOD FINALLY A LESBIAN ROMANCE WITH CHARACTERS THAT HAVE DEPTH AND INTEREST AND ARE MORALLY GREY
This book is EVERYTHING I have been wanting and was so beautifully written and delivered, I want to experience it all over again. Every time I thought I knew what was happening, the twist went exactly in the direction I didn’t dare hope it would. My biggest problem with most lesbian romance is flat characters and plot that lacks depth and stakes. This DELIVERS on everything AND is so hot. I’m obsessed and will be not only recommending but evangelizing this novel.
THANK YOU ANNA COWAN please give us more we are all just desperate desperate lesbians thirsty for well written lesbian stories

Fury Bound is not bad, but it's not great. It's not the new holy grail of romantasy. It's ... alright. It certainly does not deserve all the 5* reviews it has gotten so far.
The saving grace of this book, is the deepening relationship between Meryn and Anassa. For me, that's the true heart of this book. The back and forth attraction between Meryn and Stark got slapped with a big fat miscommunication trope-sticker. I loathe that trope, burn it to the ground. What we ultimately end up with (so far) is just... "meh" and honestly not very believable as far as feelings/attraction go. I feel like I have read both the romance and the plot of this book a million times, just in different fonts.
That being said; I will be finishing the series, and the last book will be a make-or-break for me. The lore and world-building is not original by any means, but interesting enough that I'm invested and want to see this through to the end.

i’m so mad that i’m still reading this series, i don’t even want to be and yet here i am. auren is the most f cking insufferable FMC i’ve read in a long time. this series didn’t start picking up until about 60-70% into this third book. the last 1/4 of this book was actually interesting, and auren FINALLY gets her breakthrough moment. jfc girl. i’m interested enough to pick up the 4th but if it doesn’t deliver in the first 25% i really am gonna DNF!! i promise for real this time!

This whole trope has been so overdone, but I genuinely loved this one. Although I do feel like the author had a thesaurus out and was using obscure words when it could've been said in a more natural way. The amount of words I had to look up was embarrassing for me 😆
All the edging for them to finally have sex was a mix of frustrating and hot. I love that there was a happy ending. I just wish the book was longer!!
