Just found out de Beauvoir allegedly groomed teenage students and psychologically abused them -- is the work important enough to keep reading?
Because it isn't even like it isn't related to the work; you can't write about liberation credibly (in my opinion) and also be an abuser. It also feels then like she's inherently Othering the students, which goes against literally the thesis proposed in the summary.
But also The Second Sex was a major work in feminist canon? So like is it important enough to the history to read despite her actions?
